On the Occasion of the November 10, 2009 Launch of the Makati Green Route

I am delighted to send my congratulations, thanks, and admiration to:

Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities,

The Honorable Jejomar Binay, Mayor of the City of Makati, and

The Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (MVPMAP)

In developing the television series ‘Ecopolis’ I had the pleasure to review a range of low-carbon, sustainable energy technologies and practices.  I could not have been more pleased to learn of the eJeepney story.  The eJeepney puts into practice a sustainable transportation solution that dramatically cuts carbon emissions and improves local air quality.  It does more than meet a technical challenge.  The eJeepney is brilliant because it also gets people out of individual vehicles and into share, community, transportation solutions.

I am both honored and delighted to be able to add my congratulations on the launch of the Makati Green Route.  May we all learn from your creativity.
